“Susan J. Farese was my mentor through the San Diego State University Aztec Mentor Program in the 2017-2018 year. She was and is an outstanding mentor and friend to me and so many others. I was first drawn to Susan because of her diverse background in communications, public relations, marketing, photography, poetry, acting, modeling, and nursing!
We met bi-weekly throughout both semesters of my senior year. Our sessions included resume building, job searching, interview tips, networking, LinkedIn tools, and preparation for upcoming professional events. Susan was so encouraging and helpful, and helped me stay on track with my busy schedule while applying for jobs. She was not only a mentor, but someone who I looked forward to seeing every other week to catch up on each other’s lives and exchange stories. Our meetings were not only productive, but enjoyable.
During our mentorship, I got jobs as a dancer and brand ambassador with the San Diego Kings Dance Team, a dancer and entertainer for SeaWorld San Diego, and a dancer and promotional model for BrickHouse Dance Productions.
Susan genuinely cares for her students and is supportive in everything they do. She was a point of encouragement throughout my senior year, and I am so thankful to have had her mentorship.
I highly recommend Susan as a mentor for anyone in the communications, public relations, marketing, photography, poetry, acting, modeling, and nursing fields”
